JCB Construction named Regional Supplier of
the Year
October 2002 -
Orlando-based JCB Construction Inc. has received
national praise from the National Minority Supplier
Development Council. Along with 11 other businesses,
JCB Construction has been designated as a Regional
Supplier of the Year.
Companies are evaluated on the
basis of history, sales and employment growth, quality of
products, delivery of service, competitiveness, community
involvement and challenges they overcame.
The council recognized JCB
Construction as a class II supplier. This category includes
companies with annual sales between $1 million and $10
million.
Founded by Jean Clarkson
Butler, JCB Construction has experienced a great deal of
growth during its 15-year history. The company started with
three employees. By 2001, it had 65 employees.
Sales in 2001 were nearly $8
million, a 6.7 percent increase over 2000. This year, JCB
Construction expects to report $8.2 million in sales and
forecasts continued growth at an annualized rate of 15
percent.
JCB Construction's
clients include the city of Orlando, the Greater Orlando
Aviation Authority, the Orlando Utilities Commission,
Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World Resort and Orange County
Public Schools.
